A special blessing for a long and happy marriage was given in return as a token of appreciation. The recipe supposedly stayed secret for centuries.

The simple traditional recipe is made with egg whites, sugar, and crushed apricot kernels. The result is a crisp and almost light-as-air textured cookie with a delicate almond flavor.

Delicious with espresso, but also delightful when crumbled over gelato.
